The ODU Learns Social Media Philosophy revolves around four simple concepts: community, instruction, authenticity, and engagement.

• Community: Bringing students and faculty together across digital spaces to expand knowledge and further academic success. Together, Old Dominion University can function as a community to engage and facilitate the learning process.

• Instruction: To give ODU students a better understanding of themselves as both students and as future alumni. Instruction happens in and outside of the classroom, and ODU Learns aspires to assist students in realizing their potential.

• Authenticity: To be meaningful in our approach to assist students and provide them with online resources to aid in their success. ODU Learns will strive to provide authentic and meaningful conversation in which to engage students.

• Engagement: To encourage a degree of excitement in students as they research, study, and take an interest in their lives as academics. Through increased engagement with ODU Learns, students will find that their academic and extracurricular success will be enriched.
